This policy explains what personal information Abi's Kitchen ("we", "us") collects through abiskitchenja.com, why we collect it, who we share it with and the choices you have. We handle your information in line with Jamaica's Data Protection Act, 2020.

When you contact us

Technical information
Like most websites, our hosting and security providers process basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, to deliver the site and protect it from spam and abuse.
We do not collect card details. Payment is by bank transfer through your own bank.
How we use it
- To prepare and send your quote, invoice or order confirmation
- To plan, prepare and deliver your event or order, including dietary requirements
- To contact you about your booking or order
- To keep business, accounting and tax records
- To keep the website secure and prevent spam or fraudulent submissions
We only use your information for these purposes. We do not sell it, and we do not send you marketing emails unless you ask us to.
Why we are allowed to use it
We process your information because you have asked us for a quote, booking or order and we need it to provide that service; because you have given your consent when submitting a form; and, for records we must keep, because the law requires it.
Who we share it with
We share your information only with service providers who help us run the website and our business:
- Supabase stores quote and order records in our database.
- Vercel hosts the website and counts visits (see below).
- Resend delivers quote, invoice and order emails.
- Cloudflare Turnstile checks that form submissions come from people, not bots.
These providers may store or process data outside Jamaica, including in the United States. They only process it on our behalf and are required to protect it. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep quote and order records for as long as we need them to provide your service and to meet our business, accounting and tax obligations. If you ask, we will delete quote requests that did not become a booking.
Cookies and browser storage
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Your popup kitchen cart is saved in your own browser so it is still there if you leave and come back. Cloudflare Turnstile may use browser signals to confirm you are a person. Sign-in cookies are used only for our staff admin area.
To see how many people visit and how fast pages load, we use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights. They do not set cookies and do not identify you. They record the page you viewed, the site that sent you, your rough location (country and city), and your device and browser type. Visits are grouped using a value that is thrown away after 24 hours and cannot be traced back to you.
On the quote form and the popup kitchen pages we also count, without cookies, how far visitors get (for example, which step of the quote form was reached, or that a dish was added to the cart) and which site or link brought them here (such as Instagram or Google). A random ID, kept only until you close the browser tab, links the steps of one visit. These counts do not include your name, email, phone number or IP address, and are deleted after 13 months. When you send a quote request or place an order, we save that same source with it.
How we protect it
The website uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access to quote and order records is limited to authorised Abi's Kitchen staff who need it to serve you.
Your rights
Under the Data Protection Act, 2020 you can, among other things:
- Ask whether we hold your personal information, what it is, why we use it and who receives it, free of charge
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong
- Withdraw your consent, or object to us using your information, at any time
- Ask us not to use your information for marketing
To make a request, email abiskitchenja@gmail.com. If you are not happy with how we handle your information, you can contact the Office of the Information Commissioner.
Children
Our services are for adults arranging catering. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
